This bulletin serves as proof of their valuable though gradual progression in academic writing. This issue has carried crucial aspects in library and information science. It has picturized the future of libraries developed after the adoption of new technology. Furthermore, it sheds light on the indispensable role of community libraries in fostering women’s empowerment. Similarly, it has presented impact of libraries inside the prisons in transforming negative behavior thus aiding in the rehabilitation of inmates. In addition, it highlights the importance of information in bringing political and cultural changes in society, emphasizing its role as the key to unlocking vast reservoir of knowledge essential for empowerment of society. It has underscored the necessity and process of library advocacy and importance of weeding in the libraries for maintaining the relevance and effectiveness of library services. Another attraction of this issue is insightful exploration of Bhairab Smriti Pustakalaya, a public library established in the name of Bhairab Aryal, a prominent Nepali writer. Experience of first semester student while using DDC, a classification scheme has also been an interesting part of this Bulletin. Along with these materials it has included a poem on the importance of clouds in the natural world, adding a poetic dimension to the information presented. Moreover, the issue has helped spread relevant information in library and information science. This bulletin serves as a testament to their valuable journey, aiming to chronicle their progress. Additionally, it endeavors to share pertinent information relating to MLISc. subject matter and the practical applications within the realm of library and information science. This edition delves into the historical evolution of the Internet, highlighting how the USA’s security concerns spurred widespread networking, ultimately leading to the creation of the World Wide Web. The tireless dedication of researchers played a pivotal role in shaping the Internet since the 1960s, propelling its rapid evolution. This technological advancement has significantly broadened information services, encompassing various facets of information communication and technology. Furthermore, within Kathmandu, the establishment of children’s libraries, generously funded by a Japanese organization, has been a notable development. Additionally, the depiction of libraries as rehabilitation centers within prisons underscores the multifaceted roles libraries play, as explored in the students’ articles. The integration of ICT has notably expanded the responsibilities of information professionals, catering not only to the needs of library professionals but also to the information user’s ability to access information. CDLIS celebrated that very day with lots of enthusiasm and happiness. It unveiled the progress that the department had made and the gaps that required addressing in the coming days. With this fortunate news, putting the 2nd issue of the 2nd volume of the CDLIS Bulletin before you also gives us enormous pleasure. We are pleased by the responses received on previous issues of the 1st and 2nd volumes. We would like to thank all those who provide us with continuous and valuable feedback and comments, which always help to inspire us. The highlight of this issue is that it includes an annual report of the department, which was presented by the Head of the department at the annual day ceremony Panorama of the annual day celebration, Magic of Zero in DDC, MS Word formatting, interview with a well-known historian of Nepal, Mahesh Raj Pant (re-published) for the physical publication), Use of IoT in libraries, and so many other literary works compiled by faculties and Students are the attraction to this issue. It is hoped that its contents will contribute to library and information science literature. It also intends to provide a platform for the CDLIS audience to share knowledge and information, as well as encourage students to improve their writing abilities by getting them involved in extracurricular writing projects rather than regular classroom projects. It seeks to shape students’ perspectives and ideas on various issues. The CDLIS e-bulletin always welcomes articles from LIS professionals, academics, researchers, alumni students, and officials beyond the students and faculties of CDLIS. We express our cordial gratitude to the authors of the articles and other contributors to this issue from the side of the editorial team. So, most of the contents are prepared as reports based on that visit. It is hoped that its contents will contribute to the literature on Library and Information Science. It also further aims at offering a knowledge and information-sharing platform for the CDLIS audience as well as encouraging the students to develop their writing skills by engaging them in producing different types of writing rather than classroom activities.
