    The role of librarians in enhancing user experience at Birat Medical College(BMC)

    This study examines the role of librarians in enhancing user experience at Birat Medical College (BMC), Nepal, focusing on factors influencing satisfaction and strategies to improve library services. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through structured surveys (100 participants) and in-depth interviews with librarians and frequent users. The research aimed to identify gaps between user expectations and service delivery while assessing the impact of librarians’ roles in fostering academic and research support. The key findings revealed that user satisfaction is strongly linked to three factors: accessibility of digital resources (e.g., online databases), librarians’ professional competence and approachability, and the library’s physical environment. Participants emphasised the need for expanded digital collections, extended operating hours, and modernised infrastructure. The study underscores librarians’ evolving responsibilities, including facilitating information literacy, guiding research, and managing digital tools. Based on these insights, the study recommends prioritising regular professional development for librarians to align with technological advancements, allocating increased budgets for digital resource acquisition, and renovating library spaces to create a more conducive learning environment. These measures aim to bridge service gaps, enhance user engagement, and strengthen BMC’s library as a cornerstone of academic success.
